The Zimbabwe Defense Forces (ZDF) has witnessed a substantial surge in the number of fe
male graduates, with the latest batch of recruits of the RegularOfficer Cadet Course 3/40/23 showcasing the growing diversity and inclusivity within the ranks.
Speaking during the graduation, the President of Zimbabwe Cde Dr Emmerson Mnangagwa praised the ZDF for its effort to increase diversity and inclusion.
“It is praiseworthy that the Zimbabwe Defense Forces has taken bold strides to raise the number of female officer cadets enrolledat our strategic military institutions.”
“By so doing, you are tapping the inherent potential of women to also contribute to our national defense, peace and security efforts. Well done.”
As the army modernizes and adapts to changing security landscapes, the increasing number of female graduates is a testament to the organization’s commitment to equality and meritocracy.
Commandant ZMA Brigadier General Chrispen Nduku also stated that 54 women graduated from this year’s course, proving women’s inclusivity in the army.
“In line with gender inclusion policies among the graduands passing out are 54 females who endured the rigorous training of this course, which is an increase from 44 from the last course.”
The increase in female representation is expected to have a positive impact on the army’s operations, bringing diverse perspectives and skills to the forefront.
“I am proud to be part of this historic milestone. I believe that our presence will inspire more to join the army and pursue careers in the defense forces,” said one of the female
graduates.
As the ZDF continues to breakdown barriers and challenge traditional norms, the increasing number of female graduates is a testament to the organization’s commitment to diversity and inclusion.
