Woodlands Park is undergoing a significant transformation thanks to its developer, RiverValley Group of properties’ rehabilitation program to ensure a safer and more enjoyable experience for residents as well as to upgrade its drainage systems.
The initiative is a much-needed intervention aiming at addressing long-standing infrastructure challenges that have plagued the residential area.
The rehabilitation program involves clearing sewer lines of blockages, ensuring roads are passable and installing advanced drainage systems.
RVP Chief Executive Officer (CEO) Ambassador Professor Smelly Dube explained the challenges the residents have been facing as well as the solution they have put in place as RVP.
“It has been 2 months now since we have been doing this rehabilitation program in Phase 1.”
“We then discovered that even here in phase 2, the same problems that the other phase faced are also here. Therefore, we thought of removing those pipes and replacing them and we are looking at 300 meters of rehabilitation.”
“We have also been facing water challenges and we drilled one of the two planned boreholes and ensured that our residents get water every single day.”
Speaking to this reporter, Nqoba Gurumani expressed her gratitude to their developer for the developments they are receiving as residents.
“We are happy with the change we are seeing in our community. We have been having sewer pipe bursts time and again, but now it has ended; our roads are being rehabilitated. We are so grateful to RVP for fulfilling one of our hearts’ desires. In the coming years, Woodlands Park will be the best of all the communities in our country.”
