Tigere bail conditions relaxed

Gweru Magistrate Miriam Banda has granted the application for the relaxation of bail conditions of the suspended Gweru city council housing director Shingirayi Tigere and deffered the matter to 3 May 2021 for trial.
Tigere’ s legal counsel Bonwell Balamanja applied that he be allowed to report once a week at Stratharvern Police station in Harare ,where he is currently residing.

The suspended housing director who is out of custody on $20 000 bail, faces criminal abuse of office charges as defined in the Criminal Law Codification and Reform Act section 174.
It is the state case that Tigere sold a residential stand and favored Mayor Josiah Makombe without government approval

The state alleged that Tigere sold the remainder of reserved stand of lot 17 Bickford of Umsungwe block measuring 7 801 square metres to Makombe prejudicing council of $166 735.
Wadzanai Shayanewako prosecuted.
