Three rural schools in Shurugwi benefit from Community Development Fund

True to its mantra of leaving no one and no place behind, the Second Republic is demonstrating tangible progress in rural development through the disbursement of the Community Development Fund (CDF), with three schools in Shurugwi Rural District undergoing significant infrastructure upgrades.

Tangole Range Primary, Msavezi Primary, and Chironde Primary schools are currently receiving much-needed building materials, including cement, under the CDF facility, a development expected to improve both learning conditions and infrastructure in marginalised communities.

“The coming in of President Emmerson Mnangagwa has seen our school being transformed from using a dilapidated house to having two new classroom blocks.
This is commendable, and we want to thank President Mnangagwa for remembering our school and community,” a community member said.

“Prior to this, we had a shortage in the number of learning blocks, but after engaging with the leadership, we were the first to receive this kind of help under the CDF facility. We are really happy, and this will go far in addressing our challenges as a school,” a school staff member said.

Shurugwi North legislator, Honourable Joseph Mpasi said the government is working tirelessly to ensure universal access to education for all children and prepare them for a brighter future.

“Our children are torchbearers of the dreams and aspirations for a better, modern and industrialised Zimbabwe, hence the Second Republic will continue to support the young people of our country by providing the necessary teaching and learning resources to promote both quality and inclusive education for a higher quality of life for all.
This is in tandem with the government’s thrust of leaving no one and no place behind in its development matrix,” he said.

This infrastructure development reflects government’s commitment to improving lives and learning standards across the country, while also preparing learners for a brighter future.
