Thousands attend Midlands Show

THOUSANDS of people converged at the Gweru Show Grounds this Saturday to observe the official opening of the Midlands Agriculture Show with stakeholders urged to come up with new ideas for their businesses to grow.

The show has seen businesses and stakeholders from across the country converge to form synergies and expand their businesses.

Officiating at the event, businessman Mr Clever Mandaza urged stakeholders to be futuristic in planning the expansion of their enterprises.

“There is a need to have new ideas for any business to grow. Today, we are celebrating smart ideas. Making smart plans for farming using technology.

“Let us celebrate people who always come with new ideas. Let us also realize that new ideas are made by people who work together and share special decisions. Today’s business landscape requires people who think outside the box.”

Patron of the Midlands Show Society, Honourable July Moyo urged stakeholders to have meaningful collaborations for them to expand.

“Our government is committed to fostering an environment where innovation can thrive.
We are investing in education and technology to ensure that our people have the skills and resources they need to succeed.

“We are creating policies that encourage entrepreneurship and support businesses both big and small. We believe that by working together, we can create a future that is prosperous, inclusive, and sustainable.”

The event saw businesses and government departments take part in the exhibition of their products and services being awarded for their outstanding exhibitions, with SINO-ZIM clinching the Overall Best Prize for Public and Private Entities.
Musician Baba Gweru (Herny Talent Boy) stole the show with his hit song “Hamuna Cash”, while Killer T performed behind expectations with the crowd going wild.
