Steak’n Chips, the new kid in the fast foods sector has brought relief and joy to the faces of Gweru residents who were demanding quality food at competitive prices.

For years, traditional kingpins like Chicken inn dominated the Gweru market with a bang leaving several competitors to close shop early as they failed to meet overhead costs due to low business and tough competition.

The outlet offers pizza, burgers, steak, chicken and chips combos, shawarma at relatively low prices and offers home delivery services.
Unlike other competitors in the sector, Steak ‘n Chips does not demand foreign currency and all the food it sells are local.

In an interview with founder of Steak’n Chips, Mr Tawedzerwa Mudzvoka said he started his company when he was still informal during the 2008 financial crisis selling basic commodities.
Through his sheer determination and commitment towards his vision, Mudzvoka invested more than $40 000 to open his fast food outlet to give Gweru a new culture of fast food since the quality of food was heavily declining.

“The major players in the fast food industry had begun taking customers for granted due to their established market base and I decided to take the opportunity and pave way to service the Gweru market for a start.
“Our food is different in terms of our menu comparing with other big boys on the block. We offer well cooked, fresh steak and chips because some customers do not want chicken, so we provided another alternative,” he added

Mudzvoka said his fast food outlet has qualified staff with a wealth of experience in the food industry sector.
Most of the staff members were recruited from big companies such as Miekles Hotel, Rainbow Tourism Group, Eat ‘n Lick and Innscor to have a competitive edge over their rivals.

Steak’n Chips have a quality control and assurance system that releases food samples before full production to make the best fast food for its customers in Gweru.
