The spirit of giving and unity is prominently on display this festive season, as River Valley Properties, led by Professor Smelly Dube and her husband, Engineer Dr. Mncedisi Dube, donated food hampers to hundreds of members of the Brethren in Christ Church. This generous gesture touched many hearts.
The donation included essential groceries such as cooking oil, soap, rice, salt, and other basic household items, providing relief and encouragement to families within the church community based in Mkoba 11.
For Professor Dube and her husband, the act of giving is deeply rooted in faith and lifelong values.
“This is what I was taught in the Brethren in Christ Church from a young age,” Professor Smelly Dube said. “I do not give because I have, but I give because I was taught to give, and it comes from the heart.” These words resonated strongly with beneficiaries, reinforcing the belief that generosity is measured not by abundance, but by compassion.
Among those who received the hampers was Gogo Mhlongo, who expressed heartfelt gratitude on behalf of many elderly community members. With emotion in her voice, she thanked River Valley Properties for remembering the vulnerable and ensuring that no one was left out.
“This kindness has lifted a heavy burden from our homes,” she said, noting that such acts restore dignity and hope.

The initiative also received praise from the Honourable Member of Parliament for Mkoba South, Honourable J. Kuka, who commended the gesture and its positive impact within the constituency.
“It is delightful to know that in the constituency you lead, there are people full of love,” he remarked. Kuka described the donation as a wonderful example that should inspire others, emphasizing that generosity has the power to multiply.
“When you give, the Lord amplifies,” he added.
Notably, the distribution was conducted with fairness and respect, treating everyone equally regardless of status or background. This principle of equality further reflected the Christian values that guided the initiative.
The River Valley Properties donation stands not only as an act of charity but also as a living testament to faith in action, proving that when giving comes from the heart, its impact reaches far beyond material support.
