Despite facing numerous challenges Coach Perpetua Siyachitema remains resolute, her confidence in Glow Petroleum netball Club with a keen eye for talent, gift and motivation so as to get the title.
Speaking to this reporter Siyachitema said that in as much as they faced a lot of challenges in Rainbow Netball League which included players dropping out due to different reasons, she is still very confident of the team.
“It is going to be a difficult race and journey for us especially after losing four crucial players due to marriage issues and also some who have started trying other avenues in life. But I am still confident that with the remaining team and others who are joined we are going to be at our level best this season.”
“The other four players are in camp with the national team and can only resume training as a full team when they are back”
Siyachitema said she was both elated and edgy over their current position which sees them neck on neck with Correctional Netball Club.
“I feel both happy and a bit nervous with our position but we continuing to train super hard as we hope that we will win all our remaining matches.”
Perpetua Siyachitema went on to say that the league continues to grow with competition very stif as every team is eager to win.
“The massive growth of the league has been phenomenal with newly incorporated teams like Santa Queens, Flow Angels, Mthala Queens and others who are playing amazingly well.
The high performance in the league has made this season fairly difficult for us as a team.”
Rainbow Netball league was launched at WhiteCity Stadium in 2018 Bulawayo with more than 20 teams turning up.
Glow defeated ZRP Mambas 59 to 26 and Santa 62 to 26 in their last conference matches.
Their rivals Correctional Netball club hammered Bikita Minerals 108 to 0 in its first match and then beat Yadah 51 to 31 in their other match.
