Washington Navaya hosted a football tournament at Gafa Grounds to honor his remarkable achievements as Top Goal Scorer and Soccer Star of the Year.
The event brought together players, officials, and community members to celebrate local sporting talent.
Despite the persistent rain in Gweru, the tournament was well attended, demonstrating the community’s strong support for football and Navaya’s contributions to the sport.
A total of 15 teams competed, showcasing impressive skill, discipline, and sportsmanship throughout the day.
After the event, Navaya expressed heartfelt gratitude to everyone who made the tournament a success.
“I want to extend my sincere thanks to everyone who attended the tournament, despite the rainy weather. Your dedication and sacrifice were truly appreciated,” he said.
He also acknowledged the players for showcasing their skills and maintaining excellent sportsmanship.
Navaya extended special thanks to key stakeholders and leaders who attended, particularly the tournament sponsor.
