Gweru based land development giant, Sheasham Investments has scooped the 2020 Excellence in Community Empowerment and Top Covid-19 fight supporting organisations Award at a colorful ceremony held in Zvishavane.
The prestigious Award which was sponsored by the Environmental Management Agent (EMA) and CSR Network Zimbabwe, saw Sheasham Investments bring successfully recognized for its sterling work in environmental practices and in corporate social responsibility in the Midlands and Masvingo Province
“The construction giant company takes pride in empowering communities by giving back to the community through job creation, housing delivery as well as help in the provision of clean water and sanitation. This has improved the livelihoods and the living standards of local communities, said Engineer Takunda Togara.
He said Sheasham Investments played a pivotal role in the fight against the coronavirus novel by providing personal protective equipment (PPE) to districts such as Gweru and Shurugwi among other districts in the Midlands province.
The organisation rehabilitated and maintained the Gweru sports club, donated office furniture to the ZRP Gweru Rural as well as rehabilitating the Josiah Tungamirai Airbase sports fields.
“In the past two years “Sheasham takes pride to empower and give back to the community to the best of its ability. Our biggest responsibility is creating jobs for the locals in the areas in which we operate. We also drilled a borehole for Redcliff Municipality in Rutendo suburb to improve water situation in the area.
