Rotary Club of Gweru in collaboration with The Ministry of Health and Child Care, Gweru City Council and various partners will provide 3 days of free health services to disadvantaged communities in Gweru and surrounding areas.
Rotary Family Health days (RFHDs) as it is called will be running from the 30th to the 1st of September at Gweru Civic Centre from 8 am to 4 pm.
Speaking to this reporter the Marketing and Publicity Coordinator Kudakwashe Tambaoga said that they have partnered with different stakeholders to ensure that RFHDs comes to pass.
“I am excited to let you know that we have partnered with Gweru city Council, The Ministry of Health and Child Care and various other stakeholders to make sure that we have the RFHDs here in Gweru.”
‘We are inviting everyone especially the less privileged to come to Gweru on the above mentioned dates to be consulted by professionals.”
Rotary Family Health Days will be offering a range of complimentary services which includes cancer, screening, HIV counselling and testing, TB screening, cholesterol, blood pressure, diabetes screening, immunisations, Vitamin A drops, condom distribution, eye testing, dentistry, MMC and information for young girls and women.
Rotary President Victor Nyanhete explained the aims for Rotary Family Health Days in a statement.
“Rotary Family Health Days aims to improve access to healthcare services to all, raise awareness about important health issues, promote healthy behaviours as well as habits, support local healthcare systems and infrastructure as well as to demonstrate Rotary’s commitment to global health initiatives.”
