Rotaract club to host charity event

Rotaract Club and Radiance Accapella are set to host a fund raising charity event towards the less privileged this week on the 10th of November 2018 at Gweru Theatre.

The event themed, “Be the inspiration by lending a hand” is meant to create a habit of giving and sharing to the needy.

In a memo released by Rotaract Club, it read that “We hope to use this event and many more like it to create a more giving spirit in Gweru during these trying times”.

“Through this we call upon companies, individuals and any who wish to use this platform to donate to come in their numbers. As an act of Goodwill and gratitude we will afford our donors time to market themselves at the event, be part of the campaign fliers and to display their banners, “reads part of the memo.

Having drawn their motivation from Robert South, who believes that a man can be measured by how much they give, these talented vocalists prepare to use their majestic vocals for fundraising purposes.

“If there be any truer measure of a man than what he does, it must be by what he gives,” said South.

Speaking to one of the event organisers and performers, Tafara Muza, he urged all Gweru citizens to come in their numbers and be entertained by the majestic vocals these groups have prepared.

“This event will serve these needs with the support of the whole community through donations and attending the event,” he said.

They hope to receive support and donations from corporate community in exchange for advertising space during their event.

“Charity begins at home, so we start with our city before we move to other towns and cities,” said Muza.

This charity event is just the beginning of a much bigger initiative as Muza hinted on visits to other cities and towns in the near future.
