River Valley bosses earn top 100 Influential Global Voices accolades

Gweru-based, Award-winning entrepreneur, and River Valley Properties (RVP) Group Chief Executive Officer, Professor Smelly Dube, alongside her husband, Dr Mncedisi Dube has yet again made history by securing spots on the announced list of outstanding personalities for this year’s top 100 Influential Global Voices 2024.

Both have been honoured and granted accolades to join the outstanding personalities for this year’s top 100 Influential Global Voices 2024, at a colourful event held in the UK last week.

The development comes barely six months after the United Kingdom-based global institution, El-Roi London University, selected Prof Smelly Dube as a candidate for an Honorary Professorship in Mining and Industrial Development.

The Top 100 Influential Global Voices accolade is one of the most prestigious accolades reserved for eminent global achievers.

This year’s awards ceremony where Prof Dube and her husband Dr Mncedisi Dube got honored was held in London at the Double Tree by Hilton London-Ealing on the 30th of July 2024.

The unveiling of the honour was accompanied by a series of events and discussions featuring the honorees, providing a platform for their voices to be further amplified and celebrated at the prestigious gathering of the Leaders Without Borders Annual Business Summit, United, Kingdom.

The award seeks to recognize and celebrate those individuals whose voices have made a significant impact on the global stage across various fields, including technology. Business, politics, arts and more.

In her career spanning decades, Prof Smelly Dube has made tremendous achievements.

She partnered with the Government to build two residential suburbs in Gweru – Woodlands and Hertfordshire- to offer low-cost decent houses mostly for civil servants.

She has created jobs in mining to help the country achieve the 2030 middle-income economy/society earlier than 2030 as espoused by His Excellency President Dr. E.D Mnangagwa in Vision 2030.

Moreover, Prof Dube has also helped the lives of the needy through her charity work.

In the citation of Prof Dube’s latest global honor, the organizers said in a world that is constantly evolving, the influence of individuals from different walks of life can not be overstated.

“The list of 100 global achievers aims to shine a spotlight on those individuals whose words, actions, and ideas have resonated far and wide, shaping conversations, policies, and perceptions on a global scale” reads the citation.

“It encompasses a diverse range of perspectives and contributions, recognizing the power of influence in various forms.”

From leaders driving change at the highest levels to grassroots activists sparking important conversations, the list of honored individuals aims to capture the breadth and depth of global impact.

“The Top 100 Influential Global Voices serves as a testament to the power of individuals to shape our world and inspire positive change,” said the convener Ambassador Dr. Hillary Emoh.

“I am humbled by these accolades and indeed inspired to keep working hard for my country and a better world for all

I dedicate the award to my employees and everyone who has stood with us over the years,” said Professor Dube.

Prof Dube is the River Valley Group’s Chief Executive Officer. Her company is involved in property development across cities and towns in Zimbabwe and mining through Tebekwe Mine in Shurugwi.

Early this year, she again excelled at the Women’s Business and Leadership Awards held at the Meikles Hotel in Harare where she scooped three awards.

She won the Lifetime Achievement Awards, Philanthropist of the Year and Philanthropic Organisation of the Year gongs. source:gemnation.co.zw/The Sun
