Property mogul scoops international award

Gweru based private property developer, Dr Smelly Dube has raised the Zimbabwean flag high at the on-going African Achievers Awards International Lectures and Honors currently underway in Newington, United Kingdom.

Dr Dube, a multi business awards winner was invited among other African business people to attend the African Achievers conference running under the theme, “Initiating Diversified African Economy”

being hosted by the former British Member of Parliament  for Hackney North and Stoke Newington, Mrs Diane Abbott.

She was honoured with an award in Excellence, Leadership and Enterprise at an Awards ceremony which was held at the House of Commons on Thursday night.

In a interview soon after receiving the Award, Dr Dube said she was elated  to represent the country at such a prestigious award ceremony.

“I am happy to receive the award and represent my country at this prestigious ceremony. I feel proud to be part of this as this will help put my country on the world map especially at a time when the new government administration is calling for investors to come to

Zimbabwe. Such events as this one are very important as they help us market our beautiful country especially in property investment,” she said.

Dr Dube said she will continue to work hard and do her philanthropic works that have seen her scooping awards at national and international level.

The African Achievers Award becomes Dr Dube’s second international award after she also got another in the United Arab Emirates early this year

The annual conference of African Achievers recognizes African leaders, young achievers, community builders and captains of industry who contribute to the growth of a community across the globe.

Other notable international figures to have so far received the African Achievers Awards include Arch Bishop Desmond  Tutu of South Africa, former President of the Republic of Tanzania, His Excellency Jakaya Kikwete, Kofi Annan Foundation among others.
