Prof Dube transforms MASO Children’s Center

Multi-Aid Support Organization (MASO) on Monday saluted renowned Gweru-based businesswoman and philanthropist Prof Smelly Dube who was recently appointed Brand Goodwill Ambassador in, recognition of her generous monthly donations of groceries towards the upkeep of orphans, payment of salaries for teachers and renovations at the center in Mkoba.

The historical appointment was made earlier this year in recognition of her passion for excellence and commitment to making a difference through her ambitious mission to revitalize the MASO Children’s Center which houses orphans and underprivileged children.

MASO chief executive officer Mrs Veronica Nhemachena presented a shield to congratulate Prof Dube’on her appointment as Deputy Vice Chancellor of EL Roi London University in the United Kingdom during a routine visit to the center to check on the state and progress of projects she is undertaking as well as to hand over groceries to the less privileged children at the institution.

“I am grateful to be here today as the MASO Brand Ambassador and as the CEO of River Valley Group of Companies on behalf of S & M Hand of Compassion charity arm. When you appointed me to be the brand ambassador earlier this year, I pledged to support this institution in discharging its mandate, especially catering to less privileged children in our society.”

“I am happy that the refurbishment work of the classroom block is almost complete and I observed that it is just the electrical wiring and interior painting that needs to be done. I would like to announce that I will buy chairs and tables for the children to use.”

Senator for People With Disabilities (PWDs) Annah Shiri expressed admiration for Ambassador Dube for her noble work for the community.

“I am excited and grateful to be surrounded by philanthropists and business people who live exemplary lives that give back to the community. I always appear to the corporate world asking them if there is something, they are doing for the marginalized including PWDs, widows as well as orphans.”

“Ambassador is transforming lives by sending children to the university, building houses for people which is exactly what we are advocating as PWDs and as a Senator I am inspired by this awesome deed. Therefore, I encourage MASO to keep up with the good work.”

MASO board Chairperson Dr Victor Wasara said that having the Brand Ambassador of the organization, Senator Shiri as well as Hannah a Philanthropist from China is a strategic move that will change the centre.

“Thank you so much our Senator for your words of encouragement, having our brand Ambassador Proff Dube and our guest Hannah from China is a strategic move that will see this place change from what it is and we are so grateful and we hope that going forward Senator Shiri will also spread some good news about MASO and create more friends for us.”

“I also believe that when Hannah goes back to China you are going to spread the good news about this organization and what our own is doing for the community.”
