Get ready to rumble, agriculture and business enthusiasts! The much-anticipated Midlands Agricultural Show is coming earlier! Originally slated for August 2023, the event has been moved up to July 20-23, the Midlands Show Society Chairperson, Mr. Augustine Mpakurirwa, has said.
The decision to bring forward the annual show was due to preparations for the Zimbabwean harmonized elections, which are scheduled to take place on August 23, 2023.
The four-day event, which will be held under the theme “Collaborative Solutions for Economic Development,” is expected to host more than 200 exhibitors.
The chairperson promised exhibitors, families and the corporate world a bustling business and entertainment extravaganza at this year’s show.
“This year’s show is going to be different and better than before, we are expecting to have more exhibitors than ever before. This is a brilliant opportunity for exhibitors to showcase and parade their products.”
“For our entertainment, there will be spellbinding performances by local artists, and Freeman HKD will be the guest artist,” he said.
He urged businesses and stakeholders to work together and proffer solutions for economic development.
Deriving from our thematic stance, as the Midlands Show Society, we would like to urge businesses and stakeholders to work together and proffer solutions targeted at developing the economy,” said Mr. Mpakurirwa.
He added that the show society had put in place all necessary logistics to ensure the successful hosting of the show and that gate fees will remain the same as last year’s.
The first Gweru Agricultural Show was held in 1898, making it one of the oldest agricultural shows in Zimbabwe. It began as a small event organized by the local farming community to showcase their livestock and agricultural products.
Over the years, the show has grown in size and scope, and it is now one of the largest and most important agricultural events in Zimbabwe.
Until today the Midlands Agricultural Show provides several benefits to businesses and exhibitors. Firstly, it provides a platform for businesses and organizations to showcase their products and services to a broad audience.
Exhibitors can use the event to launch new products, make sales, and network with others in the industry. Secondly, the show helps promote Zimbabwe’s agricultural sector and raise awareness about the importance of sustainable farming practices.
Finally, the event creates opportunities for collaborations between different stakeholders in the agricultural value chain, leading to increased productivity, profitability, and growth in the sector. #The Sun
