Navaya earns call-up to Warriors squad

Navaya has received his first national team call-up after being drafted into the Warriors squad ahead of two friendly matches against Algeria and Qatar.

The Warriors will play Algeria on November 13 in Saudi Arabia before facing Qatar four days later.

Navaya’s first inclusion into the national team comes after fans piled pressure for the league’s top goalscorer to get a chance in the Warriors’ colours.

Aged 27, Navaya is currently the golden boot holder with 17 goals, two ahead of Scottland FC’s Tymon Machope.

Meanwhile, Scottland FC forward Khama Billiat is a notable absentee from the squad, and rumours have it that he is forcing his way back into international football after retirement.

The upcoming two friendly games will see new Warriors coach Marion Marinica marking his debut since his appointment early this week as Michael Nees’ replacement.
