Muzik Hub Studio, the creative powerhouse led by producer and mentor William Fuzani, better known as DJ Flammes, is breathing new life into the artistic landscape of Gweru.
Nestled at Murwisi Complex in the Gweru central business district, this vibrant studio has become a magnet for local talent, offering professional recording, mentorship, and top-tier music production at affordable rates designed to uplift and empower youth.
The studio’s latest release, the “Chikoro Chemapenzi Riddim,” is creating serious buzz across the Midlands and beyond. Featuring a powerhouse lineup including Xiddo Chikandamina, Slimm Kardy, Lewaz Skattah, D Rhymes, Magaivha, Dollar Yut, King Larry Fire, SalimG, Tipe X Caveman, Mr Fantastic, Tsom Tsom, Marag, Fire Killer, Skyper, and many more, the riddim captures the full spectrum of Gweru’s sound from raw street energy to polished dancehall delivery.
Among the standout voices is King Larry Fire, a promising artist whose unique energy and lyrical prowess earned the riddim the nickname “Dum Dum Beat,” a term he chants in his track that’s quickly caught on among fans. His performance adds a contagious bounce and youthful charisma to the project, further solidifying his status as one to watch.
Speaking with this reporter, DJ Flammes declared on creating opportunities for the young people and also helping fight against drugs and substance abuse among the youths.
“At Muzik Hub, we believe in creating opportunities where young people can express themselves, grow, and believe in their craft. We want to turn passion into purpose.”
When asked about the riddim’s unusual title, Chikoro Chemapenzi (loosely translated as “School for Lunatics”), Dj Flammes laughed and explained that it’s all about his unique imagination.
“Some say it sounds like a rehab center or a madhouse, but in our case, it’s a school for creative minds crazy with talent and hunger.”
Dj Flammes confirmed that a medley video is already in production to boost the visibility of the featured artists and give the riddim the visuals it deserves.
A riddim launch tour is scheduled to travel across several ghetto hotspots to deliver the energy directly to the people, providing fans with an opportunity to see the music performed live and get to know the performers.
The riddim will also be formally introduced on a number of regional radio stations, broadening its audience and enabling it to be heard across the Midlands.
Muzik Hub Studio remains a major influence on the developing soundscape of Gweru, cultivating the next generation of stars and elevating the Midlands atmosphere to greater heights.
All credit is due to its excellent production, audacious inventiveness, and supportive mentoring.
