The City of Progress was abuzz with glamour and celebration as Tinotenda Munema was crowned Miss Gweru 2025 in a glittering pageant held over the weekend at the Village Lodges.

The event, which drew a large crowd of fashion enthusiasts, local dignitaries, and entertainment lovers, showcased not only beauty but intelligence and talent, with Munema emerging as the standout among a strong lineup of contestants.

Besides being crowned as the Queen, Munema had also impressed the judges, scooping both Miss Personality and Miss Talent and winning US$50 for each position.
She walked away with the coveted crown and a cash prize of US$500 after outshining nine other contestants of the beauty pageant.

In an interview with this reporter, Miss Gweru 2025 was beaming with joy and declared her ambition to take her journey beyond Gweru.

“I’m happy to be the crowned queen, Miss Gweru 2025, and this is my opportunity to go to international levels. I don’t want to end here, and I’m grateful that I was crowned today, for the journey was challenging, but at the same time exciting, and a platform to learn.”

Malta Moyo claimed the first Princess title and a US$300 cash prize, whilst Abundance Mudzidzi was crowned Second Princess and received US$200.
The night also belonged to other outstanding contestants who walked away with special titles.

Petronella Phiri charmed the crowd to win Miss People’s Choice, while Natasha Magwe was crowned Super Model, rounding off a star-studded winners’ list.

Speaking during the pageant, Tanyaradzwa Chimaniwa, the Administrator Officer for the Ministry of Local Governance and Public Works, commended the pageant for nurturing young women and creating role models for the community.

“This pageant is more than just about beauty, but also about grooming role models who can inspire other young people and contribute positively to society.”

Afro-soul sensation Nyasha David mesmerized the audience with his signature vocals after a beautiful performance by Dollar and the Beat Band, which kept the energy high with electrifying live music.

With only ten contestants competing, the pageant proved highly competitive, blending beauty, intellect, and poise.

According to Mavis Koslek, the Miss Gweru Beauty Pageant Director, the winners will now proceed to represent Gweru in the National Beauty Pageants set to take place in Harare during their year of reign.

The show, organized by Image Modeling Agency and the Miss Gweru Beauty Pageant, all directed by Ms. Koslek, was a success.

With her crown now in place, Munema is set to represent Gweru on larger platforms, carrying the hopes of her city and using her new role to champion causes close to her heart.

Her victory not only celebrates beauty but also signals the rise of a confident, purpose-driven young woman ready to make a meaningful impact in her community and beyond.
