Mudavanhu Zimcare Trust is hitting the right note with a planned fundraising concert dedicated to raising vital funds for the refurbishment of the school to be held at Mkoba Stadium on the 28th of March 2025.
As it is known for being a school for children with special needs, it currently accommodates 20 students despite having the capacity for 40.
The school is targeting $30,000 to improve infrastructure and support children with intellectual and mental challenges.
The concert is backed by local businesses, schools, and artists, is expected to draw significant support from the community.
Headmistress Mrs. Annamore Mukwashe shared her optimism about the event’s success and urged the public to participate.
“We hope this initiative will bring meaningful support to our children, ensuring they learn in a conducive environment and have better access to transport services.”
“Hence I am urging the public to participate and help us raise all the funds that we are expecting to ensure a conducive environment for our students.”
Tickets will be sold at the gate with adults paying USD5, secondary school students paying USD2 and primary school students paying USD1.
Mrs Mukwashe went on to encourage those who are willing to donate to contact the school with donations to make this event a success.

Mudavanhu Zimcare Trust School operates under the Zimcare Trust, a non-profit organization that was established in 1981 to support individuals with intellectual disabilities across Zimbabwe.
Zimcare Trust runs 14 centers nationwide, including 11 junior schools for children aged 5–17 and three adult centers, offering tailored education, life skills and vocational training.
At Mudavanhu, students learn essential literacy. The school’s efforts align with Zimcare Trust’s broader mission to advocate for the rights of intellectually challenged individuals, ensuring they have access to education, healthcare, and dignified living conditions.
