After a century of dedication and success, the Midlands Show Society (MSS) is set to mark its centenary with a spectacular celebration, promising an unforgettable experience from August 14th to 17th, 2025, at the Showgrounds Arena.

The 100th celebrations will be running under the theme ‘Climate Change Resilient: smart and sustainable futures and this year, the Minister of Lands, Agriculture, Fisheries, Water and Rural Development Dr Anxious Masuka, will be officiating the celebrations.

Speaking during a presser last Friday, the Show Society Chairperson, Augustine Mupakurirwa stated that this year’s edition is going to be a bit different in a special way
“Ladies and gentlemen, we’re going to run this year’s edition in a very special way, showing our stakeholders that we have come of age’ he said.

A century is a very long time to achieve, which means that there was a lot of dedication from the community, exhibitors, and executives who spearheaded the MSS’s success; hence, it should be celebrated specially.

In the meantime, 112 exhibitors have already confirmed and paid up, with 15 new entrants, and their target is to reach 160 to 180 exhibitors.

Registration is still underway. National Archives of Zimbabwe, Oak Fertilizers, City Hardware, Granite Link, Dreamnet and Gweru City Park are amongst the 16 new exhibitors for this year.

Mr Lyold Mudanhi, Show Society Marketer and entertainment assistant, went on to say that this year, 2 main artists will perform as they are celebrating 100 years.

“I am very excited to announce that, as we are celebrating 100 years of service, 2 main artists are going to perform. Zimdancehall star Freeman HKD will perform on the 16th, whereas Master H will perform on the 17th, backing up the high-energy burnout showcase, he said.

The centenary celebration is a testament to the society’s enduring commitment to the community, and we look forward to many more years of showcasing local talent and promoting agricultural excellence.

The Midlands Show, also known as the Midlands Agricultural Show, is one of Zimbabwe’s oldest provincial exhibitions, tracing its origins back to 1925.

Initially focused on showcasing livestock and agricultural products, it has evolved into a significant event promoting commerce, agriculture, and community development.

The show provides a platform for businesses and organizations to display their products and services, foster collaborations, and drive agricultural growth.
