Meet Mr and Miss Show Gweru 2023

Kundai Cecil Matemba and Scholastic Makoni were crowned the 2023 Mr and Miss Midlands 2023 Show at an event that will remain in the minds of thousands of teenagers who witnessed the occasion.

Makoni and Marimba shrugged off a challenge from 16 contestants, 11 females and 5 males when they were crowned King and Queen of the 2023 Midlands Show at a pageant witnessed by thousands of showgoers.

Makoni acknowledged that the contest was tight but she managed to hold her head high in order to come out top to be crowned Miss Midlands Show.

On the other hand, Matemba who is the first-ever reigning Mr. Show said that the contest actually helped him in many aspects of life and that modeling is now something he is willing to take a shot at.

The newly crowned Queen said she never thought that she would participate in this pageant and the journey of becoming Miss Show was not an easy one for her.

‘I was lucky that I was surrounded by supportive people similarly who wanted me to win the title”, said Kundai.

 

On the other hand, Cecil was very excited to be Mr. Midlands’ agricultural show as it was his first pageant competition in his life and never thought he would win it.

“I have signed up for the Miss Culture Zimbabwe pageant which will be taking place soon. As the new Miss Midlands Show, I am set to make it my mission to educate the people of Gweru on depression and how it can easily attack anyone, also stated how she grew up in a community where depression has been said to belong to a certain race and gender,” said Scholastic Makoni.

Natalie Kutamirepi and Zoe Chabururuka attained second and third positions respectively.
