University of Zimbabwe medical student Lisa Nyamdela won the 10th Annual Miss Gweru 2018 beauty pageant held under the theme ‘The Pinnacle of Beauty’ at Cathedral Hall.
The 22 year old queen was a show stopper as she claimed, Miss Gweru title competing against 13 beauties from the city of progress.
The newly crowned Miss Gweru walked away with a whopping $400 courtes of Bruce Tokwe Commercial Chambers.
The 1st princess was Chipo Chigwende (19) who recently finished her Advanced level education got $150 as prize money while 2nd princess Mihlayenkosi Malibha (21) a Banking and Finance Student at Midlands State University won $150 courtesy of Bell Petroleum and a makeup course at Sister Beauty Parlour.
Among the panellists were, Area Manager for Zimbabwe Tourism Authority (ZTA) Lizz Adams, Marketing Executive for ZTA Mitchelle Gambiza, Senior Marketing Executive for Zimpapers Prisca Chard, 98.4 Station Manager Tony Friday and Marketing Executive for Tony’s Paints Melvin Ncube.
The event was sponsored by Bruce Tokwe Commercial Law Chambers, Bell Petroleum, Sisters Beauty Parlour, Teecherz Group of Furnitures, Next Investments and 98.4FM Midlands radio station.
Speaking at the event, Miss Gweru Patron Mavis Koslek, said the beauty pageant was designed to promote the city of Gweru.
“Miss Gweru pageant is simply promote Gweru and it’s culture, beauty and to empower the girl child. The pageant does not only focus on the looks of models but focuses the intelligence and confidence of beautiful cultured women,” she added.
