Acclaimed gospel singer Mathias Mhere is gearing up to release his latest album “Akati Anesu”, on 6 September 2024.
This highly-anticipated project promises to be a soul-stirring addition to Mhere’s impressive discography. “Akati Anesu” is a culmination of Mhere’s spiritual journey, showcasing his growth as a singer, songwriter, and worship leader. The album features uplifting tracks that explore themes of faith, hope and redemption.
The lead song on the album named ‘Akati Anesu Emmanuel’ is set to be unveiled at the release party.
However, the album launch is set to take place at Rainbow Towers in Harare where tickets will be sold for $20, VIP $50 and VVIP $100. The release party will also feature other local artists such as Dorcas Moyo, Fungisai, Volts JT, Mbeu and Jonah Chivasa.
There is a growing appetite for Zimbabwean music across the globe of late, with more local artists getting invited for festivals and gigs around the world.
Artists such as Tocky Vibes, Freeman and Killer T recently took their act to platforms such as Zimfest in the United Kingdom.
Plot Mhako, an arts experts believe this is a step in the creation of international brands among local artists.
‘‘Lately, we have seen the increase in the number of Zimbabweans that are performing at different International platforms across the world. This is a very welcoming positive development that confirms that Zimbabwean art is indeed on demand. It says that Zimbabwean music is not only for the local consumption but it’s also music that is appealing to a broader Market,’’ he said.
