Gweru Residence and Ratepayers Association received a bicycle donation from the Legal Resource foundation (LRF) in a bid to help the organization run its daily activities.
Speaking at the handover ceremony of the bicycle, LRF center lawyer Sheila Moffat said the bicycle will address the problem of transport moving from one point to another, which has been a drawback in carrying out GRRA programmes.
“GRRA is a community based organization which we are working with and we found out that the organization had a problem concerning transport, in which it was not easy to move from one place to the other hence we donated the bicycle to make it easier and more efficient so that they can be able to handle and facilitate their programmes without facing any transport problems,” she said.
Moffat also added that they are helping to bring a social change in the community because they want a better life for everyone.
She also mentioned that, it’s not their first time donating to an organization, but they have also donated to Betseranai health organizations in Mberengwa, Midlands Christian organization in Zvishavane and Runde, and Gweru.
GRRA programmes officer secretary Fadzai Kanyai expressed gratitude for the donation, stating that their plight of travelling has been made easy.
“We had a very big challenge in travelling and we failed to reach out to people because of transport, but now we are extremely grateful for the donation we have received, as we can now deliver our invitations freely and also send someone to every community to preach the issues of development,” she said.
