The Hospitality Association of Zimbabwe president Mr innocent Manyera has welcomed the reduction of road blocks saying this has overally increased the number local and foreign tourists in the country.
Addressing the media during the third edition of the HAZ winter school in Gweru at The Village Lodges, Mr Manyera said tourism business has boomed since the removal of road blocks in the country that were a menace to travellers both foreign and local.
“A survey by our consultants discovered that people found it expensive to travel around the country in terms of what you pay on the road due car emanating problems”
“Numerous road blocks had killed the local market. Removal of road blocks is actually one development we are happy about in the hospitality industry and now that people know it is easier for them to travel,” he said.
Mr Manyera said the purpose of the workshop is to encourage members to take the lead in advising the government on issues they need to improve, in terms of corporate governance and ethical conduct within organisations.
Hospitality winter school is a refresher strategic retreat for executives especially those in the hospitality and corporate governance business.
