Allow me, on the onset, to heartily congratulate ZICOSU for its continued dominance in student activism in the Midlands Province, as it managed to win Student Representative Council Elections at Mkoba Teachers College, Gweru Polytechnic College, and recently, Midlands State University.
Thank you for emulating the ruling party, as winning elections is part of ZANU PF DNA.
Keep up the good work as we seek to defend our national interests by countering the threats posed by regime change proponents in the form of CSOs and their youth advocacy programs.
The theme for the Convention, “Building a Revolutionary Student Movement: Unity, Ideology, and Action for Empowered Learners”, resonates with the ZANU PF strategies to build the ideological stamina, skills, and competency levels of cadres, particularly the youth who are the vanguard of the Party, as promoted under the Herbert Chitepo School of Ideology.
Furthermore, the theme dovetails with His Excellency, the President of the Republic of Zimbabwe, Cde Dr E.D. Mnangagwa’s vision that recognizes education as a catalyst for social progress and resource-based and knowledge-driven economic development, as we pursue the attainment of an upper-middle-income society earlier than 2030 by harnessing the youth demographic dividend.
