A shocking case of child sexual abuse has emerged in Gokwe South, where an 18-year-old domestic worker has been arrested for allegedly raping three young girls aged six and seven.
Maxwell Machena of Village Machena, Chief Nemangwe, is accused of repeatedly assaulting the children, who are the daughters of his employer.
According to the Midlands Police Spokesperson Inspector Emmanuel Mahoko, the alleged rape cases occurred between March 28 and 30, 2025.
Circumstances are that, Machena was employed as a domestic worker at the family’s residence and is said to have lured the three girls into his room on separate occasions, where he then sexually assaulted them.
The horrifying acts were discovered by the children’s mother, who, upon finding her daughters naked in Machena’s questioned them about what happened.
The young girls bravely disclosed the repeated rapes they had endured at the hands of the suspect, whom the mother had also seen exiting the room.
Following the girls’ revelations, the mother immediately reported the matter to the police, leading to Machena’s swift arrest.” We are deeply saddened by this disturbing incident,” stated Inspector Mahoko.
“The safety and well-being of children are our utmost priority, and we will ensure that justice is served.
”In light of this incident, law enforcement officials are urging parents and guardians to exercise extreme vigilance in safeguarding their children.
They emphasize the importance of closely monitoring children’s activities and avoiding leaving young girls in the unsupervised care of men.
”Parents must remain vigilant and aware of their children’s whereabouts and interactions,” Inspector Mahoko added.
“It is crucial to create a safe environment for our children and to protect them from potential harm.”
The names of the mother and the victims are being withheld to protect their privacy and ensure their well-being.
Machena is expected to appear in court soon to face charges related to the alleged rapes. Inspector Mahoko stated that the investigation is ongoing.
