In a proud and historic moment for the City of Gweru, Joseph Zimusi was officially announced as the new Director of Housing and Community Services and breaking new barriers by becoming the youngest person in the country to hold such a senior position in a local authority.
Zimusi pledged his commitment to a new era of progress, collaboration, and community-centered leadership for the benefit of the city.
At a remarkably young age of 36, Zimusi becomes the youngest person to ever hold this position in Gweru’s history and the country as a whole.
In a notice seen by this reporter, the City of Gweru congratulated Mr Zimusi on his appointment and looks forward to his leadership and contributions.
“The public is kindly informed of this appointment, and we anticipate his dedication to enhancing housing and community services in Gweru,” reads the statement signed by the Acting Town Clerk, Mr L Churu.
Zimusi has impressive credentials and a background that make him an ideal candidate for the role.
He is a holder of a Master of Business Administration degree from Great Zimbabwe University, a Master of Science in Human Resource Management from Midlands State University and a Bachelor of Science in Local Governance Studies from Midlands State University.
Additionally, he has diplomas and certificates in Human Resource Management, Labour Law and Asset Management.
Furthermore, Zimusi’s experience in the City of Gweru’s human resources department has prepared him well for this role, as he has served as Human Resource Manager, Acting Human Resource Manager, Housing Superintendent, Human Resource Officer, Personnel and Training Manager.
However, his expertise in strategic planning, team management and community development will undoubtedly benefit the city.
