Gamu buried at Senga cemetery

Thousands of mourners defied Covid- 19 restrictions as they paid their last respects at the burial of popular Gweru socialite Gamuchirai Mudungwe (30) who was shot dead by Gweru businessman Peter Dube last Thursday.

Gamuchirai was buried at Senga cemetery at 12 noon with fellow socialites, business clients, relatives, and friends showering praise on her as a person who had a good heart and assisted many in life.

The sleepy suburb of Old Senga came to life as top-of-the-range vehicles lined up in procession to the cemetery, with residents describing it as the most attended funeral they witnessed in the area.

“Its like we were witnessing another funeral of a Billionaire Club member, the vehicles they were driving, the black suits they were wearing and ladies in best make up ever seen in this suburb,” said a tuck shop attendant.
Dube (35) who is reportedly on the run, also shot and seriously injured his second wife Nyasha Nharingo (31) and her sister Nyaradzo Nharingo (34) at Bensam Flats.

The two sisters who are currently battling for life at Gweru Provincial Hospital are said to have undergone lifesaving surgery.
Dube is still on the run but sources said he contacted his friend and police later on Friday and promised to hand himself over. Acting Midlands police spokesperson Assistant Inspector Ethel Mukwende said police were still looking for him. #The Sun
