In a moment filled with tears of joy and a heartwarming display of kindness and generosity, Professor Smelly Dube, the Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of Rivervalley Group of Companies, along with her husband, Dr. Engineer Ncedisi Dube, announced free medical treatment for underprivileged members of our community.

This free medical assistance program was revealed by Professor Dube during a memorable pre-Christmas celebration attended by over 100 individuals, including those living with disabilities, the elderly, and other underprivileged members of society.
Dr. Shakespeare Mureyani, a prominent medical doctor from Gweru, has been designated to oversee the medical assistance program. During the event, he provided wellness advice on maintaining good health and recognizing signs of illness.

“On behalf of River Valley Properties, it is vital to support one another as a family whenever you are unwell. If you face a medical issue, feel free to approach the RVP offices, and we will arrange for the necessary check-up,” Dr. Mureyani stated while addressing the gathering.
The Group Chairperson, Dr. Engineer Dube, emphasized that it is the company’s tradition to assist the less privileged during Christmas. This year, they decided to bring in a medical doctor to provide free medical care to those in need.
“As the RVP family we have planned for you free medical assistance in 2026, it is crucial to ensure you maintain good health,” he said.

Professor Dube mentioned that while the initiative to assist the underprivileged with medical services is not new—since several elderly individuals have in the past benefited—the company is expanding its outreach to help more people next year.
At the event, attendees received grocery hampers, live chickens, airtime, food, and cash.
“We will also donate to all widows in Shurugwi and 40 orphans before continuing to Chachacha and Mberegwa to extend the same program of assistance to the less privileged,” she said.
Through the S&M Hand of Compassion (HOC) initiative, the Dube family has, over the years, assisted thousands of people in need with food, medical support, school fees, and financial assistance.
