EFF Zimbabwe Announces Second National People’s Assembly for November 2026

The Economic Freedom Fighters (EFF) Zimbabwe has announced that it will hold its Second National People’s Assembly (NPA) in Harare in November 2026. This event marks a significant milestone in the party’s journey toward enhancing its democratic structures and revolutionary agenda.
“We will confirm the assembly dates once we receive clearance from the Zimbabwe Republic Police (ZRP), following the country’s legal requirements for public gatherings,” the party stated.
This announcement comes six years after EFF Zimbabwe held its inaugural National People’s Assembly in Nkayi in 2020.
The upcoming gathering is expected to unite delegates from across the country to reflect on the party’s progress, outline its future direction, and elect a new leadership team.
In its statement, the party encouraged all members and supporters to begin preparations and ramp up mobilization efforts ahead of what it describes as one of the most important events on its political calendar.
“The Second National People’s Assembly will serve as our second elective conference, where all leadership positions, from the highest office to other national structures, will be openly contested, in accordance with the EFF Zimbabwe Constitution,” the statement added.
Party officials emphasized that this elective conference underscores EFF Zimbabwe’s commitment to internal democracy, accountability, and constitutional governance, providing members the opportunity to choose leaders who will guide the organization into its next phase of growth.
The party’s Central Command Team has already begun preparations for the conference. It plans to develop comprehensive guidelines to ensure the assembly is conducted transparently, in an orderly manner, and successfully.
According to the statement, the assembly will not only focus on electing leaders but also on renewing the party’s revolutionary vision and strengthening its organizational capacity to provide what it describes as “visionary, revolutionary, and selfless leadership” to the people of Zimbabwe.
The assembly will be held under a theme that aims to inspire Africans across generations to pursue unity and liberation on the continent. This theme seeks to revive the enduring Pan-African ideal that “Africa is possible in our lifetime,” reinforcing the belief that “no African can be a foreigner in Africa,” a message central to the party’s political philosophy and vision for the continent.
