EFF Zim condemn Shivambu

Pamenus Tuso

Innocent Ndibali, President of the Economic Freedom Fighters (EFF) Zimbabwe, has called on EFF chapters across Africa to publicly denounce former EFF deputy president Floyd Shivambu, accusing him of betraying the revolutionary cause.

Shivambu officially left the EFF in August last year to join Jacob Zuma’s Umkhonto weSizwe (MK) party.

Since his departure, he has consistently criticized the EFF and its Commander-in-Chief, Julius Malema.

“This is not merely a disagreement or a difference of opinion,” said Ndibali in a strongly worded statement issued on Saturday.

“This is a betrayal of the revolution itself, a betrayal of the people of the struggle and of the Commander-in-Chief who has carried this movement on his shoulders from its inception. We will not be silent in the face of such treachery,” he declared.

Ndibali urged all EFF chapters across the continent to take a firm and public stance against any member who betrays the party’s pan-African ideology.

He emphasized the need for continental solidarity and a united voice in condemning Shivambu’s actions, calling for a joint press statement from all chapters.

This statement, he suggested, should be adorned with official chapter logos to symbolically and practically affirm support for Malema.

In his address, Ndibali struck a tone that was both urgent and defiant, warning of the dangers posed by internal division.

He reiterated that the EFF’s strength lies in its unity and declared that any fractures within the organization must be swiftly and decisively addressed.

“Failure to speak out now could irreparably damage the movement’s credibility and open the door to further betrayal,” he said.

“Our loyalty to the CIC is not about blind allegiance.”

“It is about recognizing who has remained faithful to the struggle. Julius Malema has never wavered. He has spoken truth to power both in government and within our own ranks. We must protect that courage with everything we have.” Ndibali added

Ndibali’s remarks have already sparked discussions and consultations within EFF structures across the continent. While some regional chapters are still evaluating the full implications of Shivambu’s departure and criticism, there appears to be growing momentum toward presenting a unified front in defense of Malema and the party’s founding principles.
