Doc Vikela a prominent Zimbabwean Comedian known for his energetic perfomances thrilled the audience with laughter in Gweru at Padanga Resort last weekend.
Speaking to this reporter after the show Doc Vikela said that he is happy with the response from Gwerurians and expressed how he conneccted with audiences.
“Gweru people you are amaizing and apologies for different time frames that were advertised but above all Gwerurians you are amaizing and thank you all for coming. I connected really well with everyone here and i promise very soon we will be coming back to make you all laugh because tha is my job to ensure you all laugh.”
Doc Vikela said that coming to Gweru is one of his plans to perform across Zimbabwe.
“I am so excited to be here in Gweru since it was one of the polans i have for this year to travel across the country since next yaer i am planning to travel across the SADC Region, Europe and the United States.”
“On 28 September we will be in Masvingo and in October we will be in Mutare on a date to be advised. On 6 September we will be at 7 Arts Theatre in Harare and i promise my audience that it will be a night filled with laughter and reflection as well as an experience that is not to be missed.”
Sympathy Mafume one of Doc Vikela’s fans at Padanga said that she really enjoyed his perfomance.
“I have always seen Doc Vikela on youtube but i am great and happy that i finally got to meet him in person here in Gweru. I really enjoyed his perfomance in person and i hope and pray he comes back to Gweru soon. i just want to thank Padanga for making me to finally meet Doc Vikela”
Doc Vikela began his comedic journey in 2009, he has won th Outstanding Comedian Award at the NAMA and he is the founder of Simuka Comedy which has given birth to comedy projects like Special Class, Vakuru and Patown. His latest comedy special which is to be held at 7 Arts Theatre is tittled Just what The Doctor Ordered.
