Chapungu has bounced back in the Premier League after the Premier Soccer League Disciplinary Committee released judgment in the matter involving Herentials FC and Black Rhinos.
Herentials FC and their officials Oliver Chirenga were charged with attempting to influence the results of its Castle Lager PSL match with Black Rhinos FC played on the 19th of October 2019.
Herentials FC had tried to bribe the opposite team Black Rhinos not play to win during the game but instead play a defensive game so Herentials FC could win.
The club was found guilty of contravening order 31.1.3 of the Castle Lager Premier Soccer League Rules and Regulations which makes it an offense on the part of the club where it states “Its players, officials, servant or duty authorized representatives, for any corrupt, dishonesty or lawful purpose in connection with a game played under disposes of league, or in connection with the affairs of the league give, offer a promise whether directly or indirectly any inducement reward a bribe of whatsoever nature to anybody whatsoever.”
Herentials FC were fined RTGS $300 000, in addition with article 18 (2) of the FIFA Disciplinary Code 2019, hereby the results of the two teams are hereby forfeited.
This leaves Chapungu back in the Premier League with 40 points and taking the place of Herentials
The fine of RTGS $300 000, together with the full costs of the hearing shall be paid by the club by 31 January 2020.
In the event that the club does not pay the club shall not be allowed to take part in any football or football-related activities for the next 10 years.
Herentials Fc official Oliver Chirenga was stimulated for violating order 31.2.2 of the Castle Lager Premier Soccer League Rules and Regulations which makes it an offence on the part of the club officials which says “For any corrupt, dishonest or unlawful purpose in connection with a game played the coach or team owner will be also be given a penalty fee”
