Burial date for the late Roman Catholic Bishop Emeritus Martin Munyanyi who collapsed last Sunday under unclear circumstances at his residential home have been set.
He is expected to be laid to rest on Saturday 21 May 2022 at Driefontein Mission Park , Zimbabwe.
Funeral masses in his memory will be held in Shurugwi at the late bishop’s residence on the 19th of May at 1500hrs where mourners are expected to pay their last respect.
Two funeral masses will also be carried out on the 20th of May at Regina Mundi at 1100hrs and, Driefontein at 1700hrs respectively.
The last sendoff service and burial will be held on Saturday 21 May at 09 00hrs at Driefontein Mission Park..
Bishop Munyanyi was born on 3 January 1956 and was ordained a priest of Gweru on 3 September 1983.
The prominent Roman Catholic cleric was appointed Bishop of Gweru Diocese in May 2006 by Pope Benedict XVI after the death of Bishop Xavier Mugadzi who died on February 6, 2006.
Bishop Munyanyi died at the age of 66
