Balancing Ideology and Institutionalization

Edgar Benjamin

Revolutionary Parties are born from the principles of values and ideology. Revolutionary Parties are mostly preferred for their strict adherence to their constitution or set of principles that guides the party ‘s actions, decision making and internal democracy and governance. This is the core philosophy of the existence of Revolutionary Parties.

But in today ‘s era we are witnessing a total shift from most of our Revolutionary Parties from the spirit of it’s founding principles to the spirit of serving self interests and individual glorification, fractionalism and self enrichment.

In most of our Revolutionary Parties they are growing tensions between maintaining their ideological purity and establishing institutional structures that ensures stability and continuity. Most of our Revolutionary Parties have struggled in the area of constitutionalism.

In most cases we have find that the constitution which should lead has been overpowered by individual groups and on certain times money has become the party constitution it self. We have forgotten that constitutionalism is the backbone of promoting internal democracy within the Revolutionary Parties, because it ensures that members have a voice and that decisions are made through transparent and fair process.

A constitution is a tool which provides mechanisms for holding the party members together and preventing individual decision making processes, which is crucial for maintaining the party’s integrity and strength.

It’s also important for Revolutionary Parties to adapt their institutions to reflect the voices of the masses and avoid individual glorification which makes the institution distance itself from it’s people. It’s very important to keep the principles and ideology and values relevant.

“It has become a challenge in most Revolutionary Parties to balance their commitment to their original ideology with the need for flexibility and adaptation in response to unacceptable changing circumstances. We have witnessed the issue of succession as one of the most conflicting issue in most of our Revolutionary Parties.

The concentration of power within the Revolutionary Parties can and in most parties have lead to conflicts between leaders and members, and in most cases it will be to do with undermining the party ‘s constitutional principles. The challenges of constitutionalism while trying to maintain ideological purity and national image is very complicated thus it needs to be managed well.

The moment we take our constitution for granted in Revolutionary Parties that’s when all complications began. The issue of constitutionalism in Revolutionary Parties is a very complex and dynamic issue, which requires balancing between ideological commitment and the party processes.

It’s very important to gain deeper understanding of the role of constitutionalism in shaping the actions, decisions and strength of the Revolutionary Parties.

In most cases we have seen most of our Revolutionary Parties engaging in actions or behaviors that contradict or violet the principles, rules or provisions outlined in it’s constitution.

The issue of ignoring or individuals manipulating internal party processes, such as elections, nominations or decision making procedures has brought mistrust in most parties.
The failure to uphold the party ‘s stated values, mission or objectives has also contributed to the downfall of Revolutionary Parties.

And the most dangerous is the ignorance or circumventing specific provisions or rules outlined in the party’s constitution to advantage individual groups or the few against the majority. Also the issue of suppressing new ideas, threats on different opinions and name calling to all who doesn’t agree with you… making everyone an enemy because you see things differently.

Today in most Revolutionary Parties the ordinary man is no longer recognized.
They is a new breed of politics of the elite in the political space.

The exitences of the economic environment have given prominence to the elites. Remember there are some things under the sun that cannot be glossed over in particular the issue of the Party constitution as well as the National constitution.

These documents remain sacrosanct and a marker of our enduring legacy as political parties and nations.

However, detours do exist in an political space but as Revolutionary Parties and leadership never should we throw dust in the eyes of the populace by way of going against our own constitution, principles and ideology values.

As we move in different directions our push as Revolutionary Parties is to defend our party constitution and our national pride as from our founding principles.
