The Image Models (IM) organization is set to crown its new king and queen this Saturday at the 2022 Gweru beauty pageant.
IM founder Mavis Koslek confirmed the date for the coronation night to be held at the colorful up-class Milan Family Restaurant.
“The crowns are waiting for its next queen and king, we are inviting everyone to join us in making the most prestigious pageant in the country successful.” Said Koslek.
The beauty pageant will run under the theme “The Pinnacle of Beauty” and will see 19 contestants battle it out for the crown. The winner will walk away with an educational school fees voucher for one year among many other prizes sponsored by the Milan Family Restaurant.
The renowned beauty pageant, which was postponed since 2019 after an outbreak of Covid-19 in the country is now set to resume after the easing down of the lockdown measures by the government a few weeks ago.
The pageant will for the first time see in the history of modeling in the city, males contesting for the number one spot in the Mr Gweru competition.
“We have never had male contestants before and we have decided to spice things up by enrolling the boy child aged between 17 to 28 as male pageants are growing equally worldwide,” said Koslek.
This pageant’s main objective is to identify young single women and men who portray the city’s values, traits, morals, and aspirations by marketing the city’s tourism sector.
Meanwhile the current reigning “Miss World Zimbabwe” Belinda Potts and the outgoing “Miss Gweru Queen 2019” Tadiwanashe Mhaka will grace this event with their presence.
