Tonight, all roads will lead to the Millan Family Restaurant as the RnB sensationalist Trevor Dongo is set to perform at this year’s edition of the Miss Gweru beauty pageant.
The event which is scheduled for Saturday 30th of September will run under the theme the “Pinnacle of beauty”.
Seventeen single participants ranging from the ages of 17-30 years will battle it out for the first prize position.
In an interview with this reporter, Image Modelling Founder and Miss Gweru organizer Mavis Koslek said that there was a need to empower the girl child through opportunities.
“Our main focus is to emancipate the girl child so that she is able to harness opportunities at her disposal since many young females are now entering into child marriages, teenage pregnancies, and drug abuse.
“Hence the need to provide them with skills that see them being better individuals of the future,” she said,”. Mavis further reiterated that the idea behind the event was to groom the girls such that they also perform at the national level while some may secure greener pastures abroad.
“When I train these young individuals I expect them to be the best and some who I have mentored and trained are now in Canada and Malaysia,” she said.
