Gweru-based music producer William Fuzani also known as DJ Flames from Empire Records studios has embarked on a project to blend in dancehall and mbira sound.

The chauvinistic producer plans to deliver a masterpiece instrumental into the dancehall zone. Well known for his hard-hitting kick riddims, DJ Flames is fusing in electronic bass drums and mbira sound.

He commented on his recent riddim “Rum and Ice” as he remarked, “ Rum and Ice were more of a club vibe but this time we are crafting mature, classic art.”

“Mudzimu une skiri” is the name of the riddim which has raised ears in the streets as it directly adverse Silent Killer’s “Mudzimu usina skiri” version.

He disclaims any intention to reply to Silent Killer as the riddim is meant to cherish dancehall and traditional music “Mudzimu which stands for ancestors of specific families are believed to exist as long as they are honored.

Flames is set to deliver a positive vibration to the living while honoring the ancestors.
The Zimbabwean music industry has faced drastic change from traditional music to fast-paced rhythms, fortunately, he has managed to refix the instrumentals.

When asked about major artists to feature on the riddim, DJ Flames replied “So far we are not revealing any names but Empire Records is promising fire!”
Its a fusion of dancehall and mbira sound, a real taste of Afro-Dancehall paying respect to our tradition” Close to the dancehall culture, ghetto youths have been granted an opportunity to communicate and meditate on a mature African rhythm.

“Mudzimu une skiri” riddim aims to commemorate traditional heroes and events.
The exquisite Afro-dancehall instrumental recording starts in February and music fanatics and online content creators are expecting a firecracker on the “Mudzimu une skiri” project.

The Pazimuti hit song producer said the main challenge he faces is on music distribution.
Dj Flames said music being produced in the Midlands province is not reaching out to other provinces in Zimbabwe but is ending in artists’ cellphones and in the studios.

The producer added that sponsors, music promoters and National Arts Council of Zimbabwe should also reach out in supporting Midlands artists to grow and gain profit from their musical talent.

‘I also want to address on the issue of unity in the Midlands province in terms of the music industry. Our industry is suffering because both producers and artists are lacking unity which of late is causing confusion on music lovers and fans.

I would like to encourage artists and producers to unite because united we stand and divided we fall,” he said. Dj Flames is a married man and a father of one girl. #TheSun
