Midlands-based media personalities Ginger and DJ Vas have been recognised for their outstanding contribution to the broadcasting and entertainment industry after winning top awards at the Gweru Stars Awards.

The inaugural Gweru Stars Awards took place on October 3, 2026, at The Village Lodge in Gweru, Zimbabwe.

The purpose of the event is to honor the top talent, entrepreneurs, creatives, media personalities, businesses, and community leaders who are shaping Gweru.

Ginger was named Best Radio Presenter, while DJ Vas received the Best Media Personality award at the event, which celebrates talent and excellence in the Midlands entertainment industry.

The recognition is expected to further boost the profiles of the two media personalities, who have built a strong following through their work in broadcasting and entertainment.

Ginger expressed gratitude for the recognition, saying the award reflected the support he has received from his listeners and colleagues.
“This award means a lot to me because it shows that the work we put in every day is being recognised. I am grateful to my listeners, colleagues and everyone who continues to support me,” Ginger said.

DJ Vas, who was honoured as Best Media Personality, said the award would motivate him to continue working hard and contributing to the growth of the local media and entertainment industry.

“I am truly humbled by this recognition. It is an encouragement to keep pushing, keep creating and representing the Midlands with pride. I dedicate this award to everyone who has supported my journey,” DJ Vas said.
