A total of 45 students graduated from the Midlands School of Business and Engineering (MSBE) last Thursday during a colourful ceremony officiated by the Minister of State for Provincial Affairs and Devolution, Hon. Owen Ncube, marking a key milestone in the institution’s drive to equip young professionals with practical skills in engineering and business disciplines.
45 students received National Certificates, National Diplomas, and Higher National Diplomas in various academic disciplines.
Speaking at the event, Hon. Owen Mudha Ncube commended the institution for its growing contribution to skills development and human capital advancement in line with the national Vision 2030 goals.
“I congratulate the graduands for working tirelessly to reach this profound career development milestone achievement that broadly supports the NDS (1) Human Capital Development and Innovation pillar.”
The graduation theme, “Empowering Economic Growth through Production and Innovation” resonates with the New Dispensation’s desire to attain a resource based, skills and knowledge driven upper middle-income society earlier than 2030 as envisioned by His Excellency, the President of the Republic of Zimbabwe, Cde Dr E.D Mnangagwa.
“The college, which partners with nationally recognised institutions such as Bulawayo Polytechnic College also announced a major rebranding.
Going forward, it will be known as the Midlands Institute of Engineering and Business Sciences (MIEBS). College Principal, Mr. L. Tarwireyi , revealed that the rebranding is part of a broader institutional strategy aimed at expanding both reach and impact.
“Our vision is to produce 2,500 graduates by the year 2030, equipping them with practical skills to drive national development.”
The Midlands School of Business and Engineering continues to make significant strides in advancing education and skills development in the province. With its recent graduation of 45 students and ambitious plans to rebrand and expand under the name Midlands Institute of Engineering and Business Sciences, the institution is positioning itself as a key player in contributing to national development and Vision 2030.“
