$2,639 Needed: Tree Ambassador Seeks Support to Green Cowdray Park

By Staff Reporter

National Tree Ambassador Never Bonde is appealing for donations to raise US$2,639 for a major tree-planting project in Bulawayo’s Cowdray Park, aiming to combat severe air pollution from the nearby Ngozi Mine landfill.

A resident of the area himself, Bonde plans to plant 10,000 trees to reduce the choking dust and smoke affecting homes and residents’ health.

“The pollution here is real. Trees will help clean the air, cool the environment, and settle dust,” he said.

Funds will cover tree transport, trench digging, and labour. Bonde, who leads Isandla Esihle/Ruwoko Rwakanaka, said berry fruit trees (Muhute) will be planted for both food and environmental benefits, including water conservation.

Donations can be sent via 0772 842 639 or Billar Code 28803 (Isandla Esihle).
