The saying “Kindness is the language the deaf can hear and the blind can see” proved to be true after Gweru-based land developers River Valley Group of companies donated food hampers to 220 beneficiaries as part of its Corporate Social Responsibility initiative.
The beneficiaries walked away with food hampers which comprised of mealie meal, cooking oil, bathing soaps and sugar just to mention a few.

A member of the Midlands Association for the Promotion of Rights and Welfare of Visually Impaired Belinda Musesengwe thanked RVP for assisting its membership over the years, including giving them stands to build houses.
The gesture by the land developer is part of the company’s Corporate Social Responsibility aimed to cushion the underprivileged members from different communities with food hampers this festive season.
“Beneficiaries present here are part of our family and we want to continue working with them, we have families from Shurugwi as well who have joined us today. We have been carrying out such initiatives for a while now until we eventually decided that we should do it annually and apparently, we are happy we are changing lives positively,” said Dr Smelly Dube.
