Gweru businesswoman and property developer Smelly Dube who was
yesterday arrested by a Special Anti-Corruption Commission team on
allegations of selling State land has refuted media reports that she
collapsed and hospitalized after receiving threatening phone calls from
the Minister of Local Government, Public Works and National Housing.July Moyo and the State Security minister Owen “Mudha” Ncube
According to media reports, Dube who is popularly known in the
Midlands province as “Mother” was hospitalised at Clay-bank Hospital
in Gweru after receiving threatening calls from minister July Moyo and
Owen Ncube.
In a statement Mrs Dube said, the allegations being levelled against the two ministers were false as it never happened.
“The allegations being leveled against the ministers are nonsense of
highest order…the writer of the article should be warned and be warned to write what she knows and not to day dream issues, she said.
Meanwhile, Smelly Dube is expected to appear in court on Friday 5th
March to answer charges being leveled against her.
