“Soon after finishing my attachment I was told if I wish to continue writing for the company, whilst working from Bulawayo.
“During the same year I was told that AB Communications wanted to
open a regional radio station and that I was to operate from Gweru as a news reporter”, said Mhene.
The new appointment was announced by AB Communications’ Group Editor in Chief, Kelvin Jakachira who said he was confident of Vincent’s capabilities in transforming the radio station’s news and current affairs department into one of the best in the region.
Mhene a Journalism degree graduate with National University of Science and Technology (NUST) said when he first joined the newsroom as a student he did not have the passion for news reporting but was more interested in filming.
However, he later on fell in love with reporting as his bosses continuously told him that he had potential to prosper in the newsroom.
